Talk about protecting families!

By the Husband.

I thought this was so awesome and funny.

It's so funny, I almost didn't believe it and I had to check multiple sources to verify the truth.

TLC is airing a new show starring a Mormon family called Family Armor. Sounds like a title straight out of Family Home Evening. TLC has lots of shows about families.

18 Kids and Counting (which they are still counting amazingly)

The Little Couple

Table for 12

Little People, Big World

And our favorite, Cake Boss

It's all about family.

So I was interested when a news release I read said the show is about a Mormon family and deals with their faith a bit.

But the part of the news release that caught my eye was the part that said the target audience is the same group that watches American Chopper and Street Customs.

I thought, "What kind of family is this?"

They are a family who owns a vehicle armory company. Bascially, you give the family your car, they make it bullet proof, bomb proof, and anything you want. Gadgets rival anything you've seen on 007.

(This company protects your car from bullets and bombs, but what about babies? Any help there?)

So yes. Sounds like an interesting idea.

Here is the press release.

Guess whose 40th anniversary it is?!?!

Yep! That's right.......

Sesame Street!
I don't think I ever really watched Sesame Street, sad- I know, but I still know most of the characters. I was just a Gummi Bears, My Little Pony , Darkwing Duck and Fraggle Rock fan.
:)

-Contrary to popular belief, Big Bird is not a canary. He’s a Golden Condor.

-Although the character of Elmo didn’t debut until 1984, the Elmo puppet was used regularly as a background Muppet since the early 1970’s.

Happy Anniversary Sesame Street!

This Weekend

Pierce was so nice to come with me to a family photo shoot this Saturday, even though his ankle hurts so much and he's a hobbler.

I'm so grateful he did come too, I wouldn't have been able to do it without him. 16 people=very difficult to get everyone to look, but it happened!

Thank you Cline family for letting me take pictures of your wonderful family!

*Tomorrow I start my new job, wish me luck!

I love my husband

Pierce is so good to me. After working all day last week, he came home with my favorite flowers - Stargazer Lilies.
He even put them in water and on the table perfectly.
Then the next night he made me dinner WITH candles all over our place!

Then, later that night we went to his intramural ultimate frisbee game. And this is what happened to him.
A really REALLY bad sprain. He rolled his ankle and heard three loud pops. Immediately it started to swell and he was out of the game. It's bad. He couldn't walk for two days.
This is after we took the bandage off for him to take a shower. You can see the amount of swelling around the bandage we had on.
And this was yesterday. It just keeps getting prettier and prettier!

I love you Pierce. Thank you for being such a good provider and husband! I have loved taking care of you 24/7.

And now I can take care of you more while you can't work....

I got a public relations job! More details later. (This post is about Pierce, not me. Everything is not about me- I have to repeat this to myself sometimes)

I am shocked!

By the Husband.

I cannot believe this girl. I'm calling it right now. Elizabeth Lambert is one of the dirtiest players in any sport ever. Never heard of her? Doubt my accusation?

Exhibit A.

I rest my case.

And my sweet wife worked hard on her blog last night. It's still under construction, but check out the changes.

True Story: My Trip to Blockbuster

So, the other day I was in...

renting a movie, when all of the sudden I hear, "Bella, Jacob..."

Immediately I think, "Edward???"

I turn around and an older man is calling for his two little kids, Bella and Jacob (whilst in Blockbuster, ironic?, I think so). I thought it was so funny. I started laughing to myself.

I think it is incredibly sad that those books/movies will forever change the way I think about the names Bella, Jacob and Edward. (Especially in succession like so. I mean, I give the man credit, his kids are over the age of five, so his wife couldn't have gotten the names from Twilight. Well, hopefully not)

And that's a true story.

For more random talk of Twilight, go here. It's funny, it really is.

Classroom Bunny

So, you remember this post about Sister Mary Katherine?

Well, Minute Maid has done it again. They must have gotten a new ad agency, because these videos are great!

Enjoy!

Halloween 2009

Yes, I did dress up. No, I did not necessarily like it.

Pierce went as Mr. Incredible. And he did look pretty incredible I will say.

I tried to do something very low key and easy since I had to dress up... an angel.
(So fitting, I know)
Yes, this is me, taking a picture of myself. Pierce was getting dressed and I was waiting for him.
Cute wings. Thanks Kelli for the costume.
We are on our way!

Mr. Incredible meets Zoolander.
The whole time we were driving to our friend's house, we saw a rainbow and I was snapping pictures while in the front seat.
The fall colors in Utah are so pretty this time of year PLUS the rainbow!
My husband's HOT!
Thanks Mark for letting us borrow your costume.

I dressed up. There you have it. Good thing Halloween is only once a year. :)

I want one

The bad thing about Pottery Barn sending you emails every week, is that you get ideas:
I've been searching for a corner desk for some time. It's just beautiful! And I built it all by myself (online).

Buuuuut, we actually just got a desk for FREE from a friend and re-did it. It's cute. It matches all our other black furniture. I'll show it to you later when I upload the pics.

The sky is falling

Yesterday, as I was walking to class, under a real pretty tree, something heavy fell out and hit the ground, immediately I thought the sky was falling. I look over and it's part of a nest and a little bird, and you can hear the other bird still up in the tree.

Obviously these two birds had a fight and one ended up winning. I looked at the bird on the ground (the loser with part of his home and all) and felt sorry for the guy bird.... I come to this conclusion because OBVIOUSLY it was the girl that won and kicked her former guy friend to the ground.

Yes, this is what I thought. And about 10 minutes after passing this tree, I was still thinking about it and coming up with scenarios about what actually happened. I miss walking to school with Pierce. It kind of reminds me of people on campus that talk to themselves as they're walking around, solo. Katy and I always loved those people for their unknowing entertainment skills.

Anyway... I had a moment yesterday, and it made me laugh. (And it's actually quite sad and embarrassing)

*And no, that is not a real picture of where I walk.

Baby Chewbacca and friends

So, I'm glad other people enjoy dressing up for Halloween and do it in style, winning awards and all! And this post from Erin was SO cute I couldn't pass up showing off my cute little niece and nephews!

Introducing:

Roman-Chewbacca-Brinkerhoff
And yes... that is my 28-year-old brother, Scott. (Roman, I am your father) Ok, was that funny or not?
And Asher was a clone trooper.
I finally, after 23 years of living without Star Wars, (and being completely happy about it) understand the craze. Thanks Pierce (quite sarcastically). And yes, Roman won the kid costume! Dah.
And he is completely healthy too!
And last, but not least... the Fairies!

So cute. See, dressing up as a family is so fun and darling- I would do that. One day. :)

*Thanks Erin for the pictures and letting me steal your post.
